GUIDELINES FOR THOSE ATTENDING CHURCH SERVICES
Face masks: The Church of England has issued ‘strong advice’ that a Face Mask should be worn when attending church. Due to the spike in infections we feel that this is now more important than ever.
Access: Please use the hand sanitiser on entering and leaving the church.
Social Distancing: Please sit in the designated rows 2 metres apart. Households may, of course, sit together.
Singing & Service Books: There is communal singing with choir and organ. (Thanks Kathy!). Service sheets are available.
Children: For the time being there will be no access to the children’s corner.
The Peace: Unfortunately, in order to minimise risk, there should be no sharing of the Peace through physical contact. Gentle waving at each other is recommended.
Receiving Communion: you will be able to receive communion in one kind only (the chalice cannot be offered to you). Even though you will receive communion in this way it does not diminish that which you have received. Whether we receive the bread (the body of Christ) or the wine (the blood of Christ) we have received the fullness of Christ.
You will be invited to approach the altar by lining up in the aisle 2 metres apart and to sanitise your hands before receiving. You will receive the sacrament standing The priest administering communion will also observe strict hygiene advice.
If you prefer to make a Spiritual Communion while remaining in your place that is perfectly acceptable.
Refreshments: Unfortunately, we are not able to offer after service refreshments.
Giving: The collection plate will not be passed round. Please place your offering in the basket at the back on the way into or on leaving the church.
